Ferrari Display

We had over 110 Ferraris, classic and modern, for you to admire and get close to at Ferrari Funday 2008. This year we are adding to the display with other Italian exotics from Lamborghini, Maserati, Lancia and Alfa Romeo, so there will be even more exciting cars to see. Although we can't guarantee exactly what will be there on the day we are hoping for at least one Enzo (we have initial promises for more than that!) plus F40s, F50, 288GTO and the latest 430 Scuderia. We may even be lucky enough to show Ferrari's newest car, the California. On the classic side we are already promised a 60's icon, the 250SWB, as well as at least one 275GTB.

During the day there will also be a parade around the circuit of the "significant" display cars with a commentary designed to help you with your knowledge and understanding of the history of these beautiful cars.

Ferrari Rides

Probably the highspot of Ferrari Funday is the sight and sound of Ferraris being driven with excited riders in the passenger seat. In 2008 we gave exactly 800 rides during the day, which made a terrific contribution to the total raised for the Air Ambulance. The owners who bring their cars along do so entirely at their own expense, paying for all the (considerable) fuel and tyre wear costs. They all deserve a big vote of thanks (although they do get a lot of pleasure driving the circuit and seeing all the passengers getting so much enjoyment).

In 2009 we will once again be offering rides at £15 contribution per ride (the same as last year) and once again this includes a commemorative certificate bearing a photo of you with "your" Ferrari. After 3 Ferrari Fundays our photographic team have now got the production of the certificates down to a fine art, and you should be able to pick yours up within half an hour of the completion of your ride.

As in previous years the rides are on a first come first served basis, each rider being given a numbered ticket with rides given in ticket order, thus allowing you to go and enjoy other activities while awaiting your ride. There is no pre-booking before the event. Your ride will be in the next car to arrive (it is impractical to offer a choice). The majority of cars will only take one passenger but if there is a special need to go out as a family, there may be a limited possibility to arrange a ride in a 4-seater.

The road layout at the Newbury Showground has been designed to ensure maximum safety while still allowing the riders to enjoy their experience in a Ferrari. Each ride consists of 2 laps (about 1.6 miles in all) with plenty of corners and straights, and the open nature of the layout means that spectators are able to view the cars over the entire circuit - an added bonus!
